What Golf Balls Do LPGA Players Use? Top 50 Player Breakdown (2021)

There is always a lot to be learned from what golf equipment the pros are using and while different players will choose different clubs from one another one thing that every golfer plays with without fail is of course the golf ball.

It is often a piece of equipment however that many amateur golfers do not pay enough attention to when selecting which one will best suit their game but that is never a criticism that can be levelled at the professional ranks.

Every aspect of their golf bag is meticulously chosen according to what will work best for their individual game and the golf ball is no different.

So we took a look at the top 50 players on the LPGA Tour to see what we could learn from them and put together a detailed breakdown of the golf balls the best players are using.

The top 50 LPGA Tour players use 5 different golf balls made by 4 manufacturers. 41 of this group use a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x with the Pro V1x the most popular choice of 22 players. Srixon’s Z-Star is used by 5 players while 2 players each use Bridgestone’s Tour B X and Callaway Chrome Soft X golf balls.

Our analysis didn’t stop there though and we put together a complete list of which golf ball every one of the top 50 LPGA players are currently using.

What Titleist Golf Ball Do the LPGA Pros Use?

We had an expectation that Titleist golf balls would find favour with the majority of the best 50 players on the LPGA Tour but even we were surprised by the dominance of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x among this elite group.

In total we found 41 of the top 50 LPGA Tour players use a Pro V1 or Pro V1x and in that elite group the split between which model they used is roughly even. While 18 play the Pro V1, 22 of the top 50 prefer the Pro V1x with Lydia Ko being noted to use the Pro V1 Left Dash ball. Nelly Korda uses a Pro V1.

Titleist can therefore clearly lay claim to being the #1 ball amongst the best LPGA players and a full breakdown of which of the top 50 are using which Titleist ball is listed below.

What Bridgestone Golf Ball Do LPGA Pros Use?

Despite the dominance of Titleist golf balls within the top 50 LPGA players not everyone on the LPGA Tour uses the same ball of course and some big names opt for golf balls produced by the other big manufacturers, including Bridgestone.

Both Nasa Hataoka and Lexi Thompson play with a Bridgestone Tour B X although it is interesting to note none of the top 50 choose to play with the Tour B XS, the preferred golf ball of Tiger Woods.

What Callaway Golf Ball Do the Pros on the LPGA Tour Use?

Other LPGA players prefer Callaway and of the top 50 LPGA players both Xiyu Lin and Madelene Sagstrom choose Callaway golf balls.

Indeed Madelene Sagstrom has gone for the latest version of the Chrome Soft X golf ball – the Truvis – which is a re-engineered version of previous models of the Chome Soft X designed to look like miniature soccer balls.

While the concept is very much viewed as subjective most golfers agree that the Truvis pattern does help to track the ball in flight and find it when it lands.

What Srixon Golf Ball Do LPGA Pros Use?

Of the best 50 golfers on the LPGA Tour only 4 manufacturers are represented when it comes to brands of golf ball and the second most popular of these is Srixon.

Specifically Srixon’s Z-Star model is the ball of choice for 5 out of the top 50 and the complete list of players choosing it is as follows:

  • Inbee Park
  • Hyo Joo Kim
  • Hannah Green
  • In Gee Chun
  • Minjee Lee.
